North Brighton Recreation Centre

In 2018 Bayside City Council conducted a social infrastructure assessment of the Brighton Recreation Centre that included broad community and stakeholder consultation.  Based on these findings, the assessment recommended that the Council undertake a concept design for BRC and Wilson Reserve to understand how the project could better the local community.

The re-development of BRC offers an opportunity to improve access between BRC and the adjacent Wilson Reserve and to improve Wilson Reserve’s current condition.

The proposed BRC redevelopment enhances street engagement through increased and appropriate DDA access and an enhanced street presence. It improves the connection with Wilson Reserve, allowing increased access to amenities, integration with the landscape and increased physical and visual connections to the reserve.
