Uni High School Masterplan, Sports Centre & Library

Often schools are presented with one design scheme, given a small window to make changes then the BUILD button is pressed. WOWOWA’s engagement with University High started with an intensive research Design Studio at RMIT where 10 Architecture students observed, documented, and conceptualised possibilities for the site. This high-level engagement with future users was coupled with empowering teacher/student consultation & student journey mapping saw the development of a 20yr Masterplan that aligns the culture of place now and into the future.  This is an incredibly complex urban site and deserved a fresh authentic approach.

Seaside Pool Port Melb & Princes Pier Research

High land prices in built up Municipalities require innovative solutions to create new public space. A new High School on Princes Pier, why not? Through Monash University’s Architecture Department (MADA) again, we theorised and tested possibilities, and now working collaboratively with Albert Park College to refine. The students schemes were exhibited at the local primary school community trivia night.

A crowd funding campaign to raise awareness for a Pool in Port Melbourne garnered much support & attention from the community & Council. We are now looking at the need within Fisherman’s Bend for a swimming pool facility.
